STOP DOLPHIN EXPLOITATION!

WHY:  wild caught dolphins are used in shows to perform unnatural tricks for the amusement of people.   Traveling dolphin shows are, compared to larger ocean parks, smaller and are actually temporary facilities where dolphins perform for a time after which they are moved to their next show location. The repeated transport of dolphins and other aquatic animals is particularly stressful.

The dolphins used in these shows are kept under stressful conditions. The ponds in which they are kept are much too small. The water quality is bad and the water is saturated with chemicals to make it look clear and blue. Dolphins in captivity have a very short life span due to the stressful and unnatural conditions under which they are kept.  Life in a tank is a certain death- sentence for dolphins.

The dolphins used in Traveling shows are captured from the wild and therefore the show owners can be held directly responsible for the decreasing population of wild dolphins.

JAAN wants to see an end to the commercial exploitation of dolphins. Boycott ‘swim with dolphins programs’ as they are a direct attack on the welfare of the dolphins involved. Contrary to the advertisements you may see dolphins don’t like to be kissed, hugged or held onto by human beings. Instead they prefer to be in the ocean, with their families, swimming many miles per day, hunting and playing.

JAAN partners with the Earth Island Institute (USA) to end dolphin exploitation and runs various activities throughout the country. JAAN is the formal partner of the Indonesian Forestry Department to protect Indonesian dolphins. We have built the first permanent and largest rehabilitation facility in Kemujan Area, Karimun Jawa island. Also we have placed educational billboards together with the local authorities, about the protected status of dolphins various fishing areas and harbors.

Mengapa? Karena Dolphins/Lumba-lumba: 2 lumba-lumba liar yang diangkat dari alam di gunakan untuk dipertontonkan ke masyarakat,.

Kolam angkut dan kondisi kwalitas air yang buruk membuat lumba-lumba yang di gunakan untuk pertunjukan kondisi semakin stress.

Dolphins/lumba-lumba di dalam kandang dengan tingkat kestressan yang tinggi membuat umur mereka sangat pendek dari yang seharusnya di alam. Lumba-lumba ini ditangkap dari, alam,  sirkus keliling yang menggunakan lumba-lumba bertanggung jawab atas menurunya populasi dolphins liar dari alamnya.

JAAN mengajak masyarakat untuk tidak menonton pertunjukan ini , “JANGAN MEMBERI DUKUNGAN KEKEJAMAN TERHADAP SATWA”.
