Little over a month ago the 4 sad Dolphins inside a pool in Bali, used for commercial ‘swim with dolphins’ sessions, caught the attention of surfer Craig. He started a petition immediately demanding a release of these Dolphins who should live free and not suffer inside a tiny chlorinated pool. After the petition against the ‘Wake Restaurant/Resort’ who owned the dolphin pool kicked off, over 350,000 signatures have been collected! JAAN has been protesting against this horrific place since a year ago, when they were first put there. This place is also owned by the same people that run the sickening Dolphin travel show/circus (Sirkus Lumba). Last week JAAN and change.org were invited to discuss with the Minister of Forestry who now announced a public reaction about the Dolphins. This sure is progress but still not significant as she states that she will investigate further and will discuss with ‘experts’ about further steps about this issue including the keeping of Dolphins in captivity in general and as wel at the traveling Dolphin circus. JAAN has a readaptation sea pen ready to receive these victim Dolphins to care and rehabilitate them. The center was constructed in 2011 after the rampant trade in wild-caught Dolphins was exposed by JAAN and a collaboration formed with the ministry. These facilities were constructed under the supervision of dolphin expert Ric O’Barry yet remain empty untill today. So yes, it’s positive that there is a reaction from the Minister of Forestry finally but action speaks louder then words. Let’s hope they will put an end to the suffering of all these captive dolphins once and for all. Feel free to keep signing the petition and Thankyou to everyone that has been supporting #stopsirkuslumba #freebalidolphins #marinerescue #wakedolphins #bancaptivedolphins
