Although Ariel was very quite and calm when first arriving he also has very badly swollen gums, again due to previous handlers clipping his teeth (Standard Practice to ensure the Monkeys are unable to bite). After intense treatment, surgeries and attention Ariel is very affectionate and playful. He used to be teased as he was always seeking touch and comfort from other Monkeys, he became annoying. Ariel is very soft, which led him to be bullied a lot. We were forced to move him from his previous group, to a new one with a new leader/alpha male. He is much more happy and comfortable. He is a big clown that makes both care takers and other monkeys laugh. He doesn’t take life to seriously and just wants to sleep and eat all day. This is slightly worrying as he needs to learn survival skills to ensure his safety back in the wild.
